The laboratory has extensive experience in assessing the accuracy of machines and coordinate measurements. Dozens of checks were made, inter alia, on behalf of CMMs manufacturers such as DEA SP.A Torino, Leitz Messtechnik Wetzlar, Brown & Sharpe, Zeiss IMT and companies such as TEKSID Bielsko Biala, FIAT AutoPoland, ELMOT Świdnica, ALSTOM Elblag, NSK Iskra Kielce, Valeo Autosystemy Skawina and many others, in which we regulary check the accuracy for many years.

Laboratory staff carry out training in coordinate measuring technique and programming of coordinate measuring mechines, software applications of PCDMIS and QUINDOS. Over the past 10 years in organized courses attended 146 people mainly from the industry.

Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology offer:
- Research services (calibration) and analysis,
- Courses and training.

Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology is the calibration laboratory accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) under number AP-132 in accordance with PN-EN ISO / IEC 17025:2005 for the following calibration:

1. Calibration of coordinate measuring systems such as: coordinate measuring machines, laser trackers, selected scanners, coordinate measuring arms:

- according to the standard ISO 10360-2:2003,

- based on the standard ISO 10360-2:2003 for large coordinate measuring machines (CMMs),

- according to the standard ISO 10360-4:2003 for calibration of coordinate measuring systems used in scanning measuring mode,

- according to the guideline VDI/VDE 2617 part 5.

2. Calibration of geometrical features of the object using coordinate measuring technique (calibration measurements of industrial parts).

Furthermore Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology provides other services such as:

- determination of measurement uncertainty for specific laboratories and produced parts (uncertainty budget),

- accuracy monitoring of the coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) over its lifetime.

Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology carries out training and courses:

TRAINING IN COORDINATE METROLOGY

1. Training in coordinate measurement in Quindos and PC-DMIS software.

The scope of training is agreed with the representative of the company before practical training. A detailed training program depends on used options and the preparation of students and it is individually developed for each training course.

Trainees should have the directional education (at least a secondary technical) or many years of experience in the use of measuring machines and:

- should be familiar with Windosw,

- should know the basics of the metrology,

- should have the ability to read technical drawings.

2. Courses of the basis of coordinate metrology. Courses includes training in the measuring software and measuring machines destined for:

- quality assurance personnel,

- Metrologists,

- Quality controllers,

- Technologists,

- production workers performing measurement tasks.

3. Specialized courses in the estimation of coordinate measurement uncertainty .

TRAINING IN ACCREDITATION

1. Practical interpretation of standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005

2. The steps in the accreditation process, accreditation requirements included in the standard ISO 17025 and documents of Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA).

3. The role of top management, quality manager and technical manager in the management system in accordance with ISO 17025.

4. Internal audit of the management system and the technical area of a laboratory
