TraceSys was a system that offers cost-effective and meets applicable standards of supervision precision measuring equipment. Project partners included representatives from seven European countries, where the accredited research centers provide the highest quality service along with all the necessary infrastructure. For this purpose, a special web platform has been created. Its allowed technician instant access  and ensured regular review and evaluation of customer precision measuring equipment. Internet platform was a combination of a database (computing and generating reports) and the e-mail management system thanks to optimized interface for the needs of the user.

September 26, 2008 Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology took part in the project: "Malopolska Researcher's Night" organized under the fourth edition of "European Researcher's Night." This event provides a meeting of EU citizens with researchers from more than 200 European cities. In Małopolska this event was attended by about 15 000 people. During the Researcher's Night in the Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology was presented: the measurement of automotive engine head at the coordinate measuring machine, a demonstration showing how the operation and use of a Laser Tracker and software for static photogrammetry for obtaining a 3D model of the measuring object from  a series of photos taken by a digital camera.
